Photography Is My Passion!
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Fiona Ogilvie recently moved interstate from Melbourne up to sunny Brisbane (its so much warmer up here).
Always loving Photography since I took art course back in High School (wow that seems so long ago now !) I had an obsession with photographing old churches. I then met my best friend and partner Dave, we married and now have three children two boys and a little girl. My obsession with churches switched to taking millions of photographs of babies and children. " so there it began. It is always rewarding if you can find something that you love to do that you can share with others.
I love the uncertainty of what lays ahead with each shoot with little ones. You just never know what funny things children come up with or what mood they are going to be in on the day. From the newborns, the moment you take their nappy off they want to release their fountain on everything or needing a feed right when mum has that great idea for a shot she'd like to capture.... to the toddlers wanting to stand on their heads or dancing around to the Hi5 music in the background. This just adds to the variety of shots I feel and we hope to satisfy you as the parents with some individuality in the photos that you have hanging on your walls.
Family shots are always nice whether it be the newly engaged couple, the loving embrace of partners with their new addition to the family, or Mum & Dad's that have dragged their teenagers along for the dreaded family shots!!!. We all know how much teenagers love doing anything with their parents don't we!!! We don't get you in with a half hour slot and rush you out the door because the next appointment is sitting waiting to have theirs done. We will take as long as you need to get the right shots. Newborns and toddlers don't need to be rushed. If you need to feed or change bottoms then you have the time. Family groups need time to arrange themselves or have some fun filled piggy back lessons( these make the best fun shots).
As a mother of three I totally understand children. I understand they can wake up on the wrong side of the car seat as you pull up to have your photos taken only to drag a cranky monkey out of the car. I have some natural confectionary on hand for these times hehe. I do have some tricks up my sleeves for getting some shots if they are determined not to...I also consider myself a bit of a dag and am willing to give most things a go just to achieve some good photos for you...(ok so most things within reason...)
Since the introduction of digital photography I also love to experiment with many shots, adding your child's name or creating newborn thank-you cards from the very photos you have just had taken. Having taken black and white shots adding a splash of colour to your daughter's favourite tu tu. Having the pregnant shot blended in with the newborn baby shots, or even adding borders or creating a little bit of an arty look to your photos.
If you have any ideas or a particular shot you're after prior to your shoot do email us, and we will try to capture that shot you're after. (sometimes with children not always achievable, but we'll give it a go)
